• The King of Pop / The King of Tenors SCANDAL— on LinkedIn— The well-publicized accusations that Michael Jackson had sexually abused children seemed to bother the critics far more than audiences. Jackson denied the allegations and was acquitted of criminal molestation charges in 2005 although he did settle out-of-court with one of his accusers in the 90’s.
The phenomenon of the public overlooking the sexually-related scandals of popular Music Artists is nothing new. In fact, we can find an example from the earliest days of the music industry. In November 1906, a New York City police officer arrested a man for groping a woman in the monkey house of the Central Park Zoo. That man was Enrico Caruso.
