If you're serious about building a career in music, sooner or later you discover something important.
Making music is one thing.
Understanding the music business is another.
And if you want a long, successful career, you need both.
That's why we're pleased to introduce you to Complete Music Update (CMU). For more than two decades, CMU has been helping people understand what's happening across the music industry. Streaming. AI. Copyright. Publishing. Live music. Labels. Ticketing. Legislation. Artist rights. They follow the business of music every day so the rest of us don't have to.
What we particularly appreciate is their style.
CMU doesn't simply repeat press releases. They explain what's happening, ask good questions, and aren't afraid to challenge powerful players when the facts warrant it. Whether the story involves Spotify, Live Nation, AI, copyright, or government policy, they consistently approach it with curiosity, intelligence, and a healthy dose of independence.
That's the kind of thinking we admire.
The TrueFans AMP™ exists to help Music Artists build real careers—without selling their soul. CMU helps us—and now you—better understand the world those careers are being built in. Different mission. Shared commitment to helping the music community make better decisions.
